Join us to hear Dr. Mackie explain how we are moving from just talking about ending poverty to implementing real world long-term solutions to end poverty. Dr. Mackie is the Medical Officer of Health and CEO for the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) and is an Assistant Professor, Part Time at McMaster University.

With more than two and a half years’ experience in human trafficking investigations, Detective Constable Potruff discusses how poverty in London, Ontario is a major catalyst in making people vulnerable to the sex trade. Jim Potruff is a Detective Constable in the Major Crime Section with London Police Services.

With homelessness, poverty, and mental illness on the rise in London, we need to find long-term solutions to help people in need. Ms. White will provide a framework to understanding poverty in London and what can be done to help. Elisabeth White has been involved in the Employment sector for her whole career and is currently Manager of Employment and Strategic Initiatives with Housing, Social Services and Dearness Home at the City of London.
