In 2011, Larry co-founded ATMOS Marketing, a digital marketing company that specialized in Digital Advertising and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Working with local small businesses at the beginning, ATMOS began to work with nationally recognized brands in late 2013. In 2014, ATMOS was awarded Business of the Year in London. That same year, Larry was named a Finalist for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Ontario and the following year, was awarded Canada’s Top Under 30 Pan-Asian Leader by RBC.
In 2015, ATMOS merged with a local software company to form Northern, becoming Canada’s largest eCommerce agency, specializing in enterprise eCommerce development and digital marketing campaigns for multi-national brands. In 2016, Larry successfully exited Northern to dedicate his time in building new startups across various industries including but not limited to software, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, and more. In addition to founding new businesses, Larry is also an investor and advisor to several fast-growing startups based in Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.
Born and raised in London, Larry is an alumnus of the city’s three major post-secondary institutions: University of Western Ontario (BA Psychology), Fanshawe College (Graduate Program – Marketing Management) and Ivey Business School (Executive MBA). The role that formal education has played throughout Larry’s career has inspired him to make education more accessible for others. In 2017, Larry established the Lau Foundation, which seeks to support organizations and community initiatives that focus on poverty alleviation by providing education and skill development.
Larry has also taken a more hands-on approach to improve education within London. In 2013, Larry was recruited to develop Western University’s first digital marketing specialized course for the graduate marketing program. Bringing his industry expertise to the classroom, Larry taught MKTG6006 (Foundations of Digital Marketing) from 2013 to 2017.
His engagement with the London community also includes serving as a Board of Governors of Fanshawe College.
