I came to Canada with a dream of owning my own business. After Goodwill gave me the opportunity to start my business, I am able to give the opportunity to other people who are new to this country.

I’m learning things and feeling more confident. For others that are going through the same thing I’ve been through; never give up. Baby steps. Keep dreaming big.

I wake up in the morning and there is always that motivation to go into work. Goodwill really set me up for success in my role.

I came to Canada in 2016 and at first it was difficult because I didn’t have Canadian work experience even though I had worked 10 years in the industry. I started at Goodwill as a team supervisor and a couple months later had an opportunity for a promotion. I think that is part of what Goodwill does; they create opportunities to grow. This was the first company to open their doors to me. They gave me employment and they gave me an opportunity.
