The DGR Regional Training Specialist has an integral role within the Donated Goods Retail Division. The DGR Regional Training Specialist ensures our workforce is well trained and can effectively enhance the value of our donations through improved operational standards, process flow, and product knowledge. The DGR Regional Training Specialist supports all Donated Goods operations throughout the organization.

This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that they have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance upon being hired.

What You Will Do:
- Effective delivery of operational training for Donated Goods Retail management and hourly team members.
- Ensures that appropriate training techniques are used to assist retail team members in acquiring appropriate and pre-determined vocational and career competencies.
- Trains and enforces Lean, 5-S, River System, Guiding Principles, Core Values, Product knowledge, POS systems/metrics, Power BI, e-learning systems such as Goodwill U, Share Point, Power Point, Customer Care Cycle and Loss Prevention.
- Ongoing collaboration and communication with Regional Directors. Including program progress and updates, reports, opportunities, and any issues relating to desired strategic outcomes.
- Canvasses teams feedback and ideas to improve efficiencies and assist in analyzing and testing the ideas for viability.
- Assists in temporarily covering open management positions within donated goods retail.
- Collaborating with support departments throughout the organization to design, implement and maintain the training curriculum and materials specific to donated goods retail and management leadership principles.
- Responsible to maintain data and record measured outcomes through goals developed for the curriculum focusing on process flow and product knowledge in alignment with GII standards and expectations.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of training by communicating with management teams and assessing job performance through follow ups and measuring operational performance by site. Reports on store successes as well as evaluating training metrics and successes.
- Responsible for the development and execution of new store training and set up.
- Follow and ensure all employees abide by all Health and Safety standards set out in legislation and/or Goodwill policies.
- Adheres to and promotes all loss prevention programs.
- Create training tools and curriculum and deliver management training courses in classroom and follow up on classroom training being implemented in the field.
- Create and update visual training aids for workstation layouts and processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Leadership role.
- Applicable post-secondary education.
- Presentation and Facilitation Skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm: excited to work with other people and teams.
- Flexibility: able to work at various times, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Communication: effectively speaking with and listening to team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
- Problem-solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate.
