Liza Amlani is the Principal and Co-Founder of Retail Strategy Group. The firm works with market-leading retailers and brands, helping them improve profitability and organizational effectiveness. Columbia/Mountain Hardware, Under Armour, Lands’ End and many others turn to Liza for advice, especially in turbulent times.

She is a recognized authority in the retail industry and is frequently interviewed by Bloomberg, Reuters, Chain Store Age, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Sourcing Journal and Footwear News. Further, she has been recognized by Rethink Retail as a Top Retail Expert for four consecutive years and the National Retail Federation has just named her a top Retail Voice for NRF 2025.

Prior to Retail Strategy Group, Liza was the merchandising SME in Accenture’s retail strategy practice. Before that, she spent 20+ in retail merchandising and product creation with companies including Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco, Holt Renfrew and more.

She brings a wealth of global insight to her work given the number of stamps in her passport and countries where she has lived – Liza has moved 30 times in her life from Canada to the UK to Africa. Most recently, she called New York City home while teaching Fashion Marketing & Digital Technology at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology.

Liza is a mentor to many and often volunteers her time in educating and empowering retail students. Liza also sits on the advisory board of the Women of Color Retail Alliance (WOCRA).
