The mission of “Changing lives and communities through the power of Work” is foundationally based on “people”. When Goodwill develops and grows an individual’s ability to be successful on its work platform, Goodwill is strengthening its business, which leads to more opportunities for people to join the team.

Lisa Bowden, having graduated with a Psychology Degree from Western University and (later) a Human Resources Certificate from Fanshawe College, has focused her career on “people”. Lisa’s human resources career began at TD Canada Trust after having worked for many years in the retail financial division. From the financial sector, Lisa spent time consulting with various businesses, providing human resources support.

The opportunity to join a people organization such as Goodwill, right at the time of an aggressive growth strategy, was timely. Lisa joined the Goodwill team in 2007 and has evolved from the coordinator role she initially held to the leadership role she holds today. The “people side” of the organization, employees or clients, has its rewards but not without challenges. The people team continues to grow in order to provide the support needed to our Goodwill people so that they may achieve their goals through the power of Work.
