John McCleery is the retired (Oct 2015) co-founder, Managing Director and C.F.O. of Concordia Pharmaceuticals Inc., (CPI) the principle operating subsidiary of Concordia International Corp., (CXR). John played a key role in taking CXR public on the TSX and NASDAQ. John was responsible for the operational and financial management of CPI and was a member of the Executive Committee of CXR.
John is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Accountant having articled with the Toronto office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. John has a BA (Philosophy) from the University of Western Ontario.
John’s experience and knowledge is primarily in financing; going public; merger and acquisition integration; risk and operational management as well as supply chain management.
John is active in the community: Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes (current Director); and has taken leadership roles in local organizations in the past: FM Global (Member, Canadian Risk Management Executive Council); Tippet Foundation (Director, Secretary/Treasurer); North York General Hospital (Director, Chair of Audit Committee); North York General Hospital (Director); Crescent School (Board member); Crescent School Foundation (Founding Board member and Chair); Canadian and Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants (Member).
John is married to Janet and they have two children – Owen (Chemical Engineering, Queens University) and Tara (Interior Design, Savannah College of Art and Design). John and Janet lived abroad from 2001 to 2006 and again from 2009 to 2015.
